Carrying a 7-kilogram tumor, she walks sadly and painfully, step by step, trying to stay away from everyone.

We saw this video posted on social media. While working in a small village, the team stumbled upon her. As soon as we read the news, we immediately set off. It took us eight hours to reach the location, as the village is nestled deep within a mountainous area. We found the dog lying in front of a gate, curled up in agony. The massive tumor under her abdomen looked like it was about to burst.

The old couple who owned the dog explained, “At first, the tumor was very small, but over time, it grew larger. The health system here isn’t developed, so we eventually gave up, though we still cared for her as best we could. The food was still nutritious, but she was getting thinner day by day.”

Each of her ribs was clearly visible, which broke our hearts. Since the mass appeared, her life had become unbearable. Her gait was unsteady, with the heavy growth dragging along the ground.

The owner added, “The dog is no longer as happy and active as before. We haven’t seen her smile for a long time. She prefers to be alone and doesn’t want to be close to anyone. Whenever she comes near, she immediately runs away.”

The depths of her eyes were filled with profound sadness. Although the couple had tried everything, nothing had changed, and they had long considered her a member of their family.

My heart felt like it was breaking into pieces. We knew we had to take her to a vet in the city. The owner helped us catch the poor thing; she was incredibly confused and scared. Before we left, the old woman brought out the dog’s favorite food, and they said goodbye with eyes full of affection and tears. A long journey awaited her, and we prayed that everything would turn out for the best.

Fifteen days later, we returned to the mountains. The road was incredibly winding and difficult, but the dog sitting in the car was surprisingly obedient. Everyone was overjoyed at her return. Her 7 kg tumor had been removed, and her health had almost fully recovered. She just needed rest and proper nutrition to regain her weight.

The tumor would no longer dictate her life. She was incredibly happy, eager to run and explore everywhere. My feelings at that time were impossible to express in words; my tears just kept falling from pure emotion. She is now enjoying life to the fullest, no longer afraid of anyone, and has regained her confidence. I truly hope she remains happy forever. The old couple shed tears of joy and simply said, “Thank you.”
