“This is a hard one”: Martha MacCallum shares emotional news after nearly eight years
Fox News anchor Martha MacCallum is preparing for a difficult change after nearly eight years alongside one of the most trusted people on her team.

MacCallum shared the emotional news on Instagram, posting a photograph with longtime producer and close friend Lori Frye, whom she described as her “right hand.”
“This is a hard one,” MacCallum began, revealing that Frye is leaving to begin what the anchor called an “exciting next chapter.”
A Partnership That Began When Lori Was 22
According to MacCallum, Frye joined her team at only 22 years old, shortly after finishing school.

During the years that followed, their professional relationship developed into something far more personal.
“She has grown in these years into a trusted colleague, producer, loyal ally and friend,” MacCallum wrote. “She is talented beyond.”
The two worked side by side through an extraordinary period in modern news coverage. MacCallum recalled sharing elections, primaries, two presidential races and major interviews at the White House and Chequers.
Their assignments also took them to historic events, including the funerals of Queen Elizabeth II and Pope Francis, as well as the coronation of King Charles III.
Through demanding broadcasts, major political moments and international journeys, their bond continued to grow.
MacCallum said they had stressed, laughed and thanked God for the remarkable adventures and opportunities they experienced together.
Frye also helped bring the cover of MacCallum’s upcoming book to life. The anchor said she developed the concept while her longtime producer transformed the idea into the finished design, which has not yet been publicly revealed.
Viewers Rally Around Martha and Lori
The heartfelt farewell struck a chord with MacCallum’s audience, attracting more than 36,500 likes and 779 comments.
“We’ll miss you, Lori! The best of the best,” one follower wrote.
Another called MacCallum and Frye “a dynamic duo,” while others wished Lori success in whatever comes next.
Fox News correspondent Alexis McAdams joined the response, writing, “The BEST! We love you, Lori!”
Angela Varney told Frye that she would be “so incredibly missed” and congratulated her on the next chapter. Michelle Malkin described MacCallum’s tribute as “such a sweet message.”
Although many people expressed sadness over the end of the partnership, the comments were also filled with encouragement and excitement for Frye’s future.
Lori Responds to Martha’s Farewell
Frye offered an emotional response of her own beneath the post, describing her years working with MacCallum as an experience she could never have imagined when she first joined the team.
“It was an honor and privilege to work for you — the best of the best,” she wrote. “22 year old me never could’ve dreamed what this role would be!”
Her words reflected the gratitude and affection evident throughout MacCallum’s tribute.
What began as an opportunity for a recent graduate became an eight-year journey built on trust, historic assignments and a friendship extending far beyond the television studio.
MacCallum’s post was not simply a goodbye to a producer. It was a deeply personal tribute to the colleague, creative partner and loyal friend who had remained by her side through some of the most important moments of her career.
Lori may now be stepping into a new chapter, but MacCallum’s message made one thing unmistakably clear: the impact she leaves behind will not soon be forgotten.
